The Diploma in Hydrogen Management of the Faculty of Engineering at Universidad Austral (Argentina) received on June 16 the visit of Edesio Miranda-Barbosa, CTO and representative of CARBIOW’S partner Svåheia Eiendom AS (SEAS) who, as an expert in CCUS, presented the most interesting advances in research and projects for the deep decarbonization of the economy, such as the CARBIOW project itself.
A new hydrogen market is taking hold worldwide, with countries emerging as importers or exporters and projections of hydrogen becoming a global commodity in the coming years. Argentina has the capacity to become a net exporter of this resource, generating business opportunities for local companies throughout the value chain, not only in production and marketing but also in the manufacture of equipment and provision of related services. Companies need skilled professionals in this new sector, which has the potential to become an indispensable source of foreign exchange generation.
In addition to the economic benefits, the development of a hydrogen economy in Argentina would significantly contribute to meeting the objectives of decarbonisation through the production of a globally abundant element and to meeting the imperatives of the energy transition.
This postgraduate course allows the analysis of this energy source with a unique approach in the academic world.
