The CARBIOW consortium is pleased to share an important achievement led by our partner TECNALIA within Work Package 4. The team has successfully produced synthetic eFuels using an advanced millichannel reactor together with catalyst developments provided by VITO.
This milestone represents a key step in the project’s pathway toward demonstrating the conversion of biogenic waste into renewable fuels for sectors that are difficult to electrify. The successful synthesis illustrates the progress made in integrating upstream syngas generation with downstream catalytic fuel-production processes.

The use of a millichannel reactor allows for improved control of reaction conditions, while the catalysts supplied by VITO contribute to optimising performance during the synthesis stage. This joint achievement highlights the strong collaboration between partners and reinforces the overall technological progress within CARBIOW as the project approaches its final months.
This achievement showcases the excellent collaboration between TECNALIA and VITO and strengthens CARBIOW’s overall technological progress as the project approaches its final months. Further validation work will continue to support the project’s final assessments and expected impacts.
