Beatriz Aberasturi is the Project Coordinator (management) of CARBIOW. For her, “this project represents a key opportunity for the development of innovative technologies for the transformation of the Organic Fraction of Municipal Solid Waste (OFMSW) and other hard-to-utilize solid organic wastes into biofuels. The target will focus on the production of alcohols for maritime, and kerosene for the aviation sector. Furthermore, the emissions and by-products such as ashes and residues from the entire process will be treated and managed to stay sustainable, clean, and circular as in new cement mixtures”.
Beatriz received her BSc Degree in Chemical Engineering in 2006 and her Master’s in Integrated Management Systems in 2009. Since 2023, she has been the Head of the Bioeconomy and CO2 platform in the Circularity Area in TECNALIA Research & Innovation.
With experience in technologies for the reduction, capture, fixation, and recovery of CO2, in the design and development of reactors and pilot plants, simulation and optimization of chemical processes, in the production and recovery of biomass, in control engineering for fine particles and emissions, etc.
