Our colleague Andrii Kostyniuk from Kemijski inštitut – National Institute of Chemistry) presented his work “Non-Catalytic Conversion of Biomass Waste into Levoglucosenone and 1,4:3,6-Dianhydro-α-D-Glucopyranose under Mild Dry Torrefaction Conditions”, contributing valuable scientific insights to the conference programme.

In addition, the poster “CARBIOW project – Carbon Negative Biofuels from Biowaste”, presented by Ali Hedayati from IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute, and the technical coordinator of CARBIOW project, was also featured, showcasing the project’s contribution to green transition and circular economy by proposing novel technologies that cover the whole process of conversion of organic waste to maritime and aviation biofuels.
At this stage of the project, CEBC2026 was a great opportunity for the CARBIOW project to exchange knowledge with the biomass and bioenergy community; present concrete results achieved within the project and trengthen collaboration on sustainable, carbon-negative bioenergy pathways.
